About This Quote

When Klaus Baudelaire sighed, and opened a book, and as at so many other times when the middle Baudelaire child did not want to think about his circumstances, he began to read. This is one of my favorite quotes about books, but it applies even more strongly to the importance of reading in general. Reading helps us learn how to think better, helps us learn more about the world, helps us learn more about ourselves, and helps us figure out what our purpose is. It also provides a sense of calm in our lives.
